David is in the Air Force so they decided to get married at the USAFA Cadet Chapel which was beyond stunning. I personally loved the reception at Cielo at Castle Pines. It complimented everything from the details that showed all the places in the world they had traveled, to the walk down the beautiful spiral staircase after being announced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Auston.

P.s. Star Wars action figures  for cake figurines rock my socks off.

I always try to be a guest at family weddings so I can enjoy myself and be part of the group, but that doesn’t stop me from bringing my camera! It was such a beautiful ceremony with so many happy emotions. Nothing makes me happier than taking pictures of the people I love.

I had been terrified of what the weather was going to be doing today. You know Colorado! The skies stayed blue at Riverfront Park and Union station for these guys.

They stopped over at my places to get a sneak peek of the photos and Hawkins tried his skills on drums while I played “Undone – Sweater Song” by Weezer on guitar with some help from Tory on back up vocals. I cannot wait to shoot this wedding!

Chiqui and Iain couldn’t take their eyes off of each other at the alter, and neither could any one else. They were great hosts and went to each table to thank everyone for coming, but when they had their first dance it was like they were the only ones in the room.

“Miiike…I am at work CRYING. They are absolutely breathtaking….I soooo appreciate you!!! WOW! I loveeeeee themm!!!!” – Shawntee.

I grew up in Galveston, Texas which is where we took these pictures. First we started on The Strand, a historic part of the city. We ended up making our way all over town until ending the shoot on the beach. A perfect way to end.

Another beautiful day in Colorado and another beautiful couple getting married. The event was fantastic for so many reasons and every piece of the wedding had its own perfect part. People always ask me,

“Do you like to shoot weddings or  is it too much work, chaos, and pressure?” I love weddings. They are without question more work than almost any other thing that I do. At the same time, they are also the most rewarding and fun to photograph.

One of the great things about having two photographers is we can be two places at once. My second shooter Justin Edmonds went to set up the photo booth while I took the newlyweds out for extra photos in City Park. The booth was a big hit as always.

They didn’t have a tradition wedding, thats for sure. Olivier, the groom, is from France, so they had pastries instead of cake and to get from the chapel to reception, they marched down the street followed by an eight piece jazz band, just to name a few. The weather held up for us, and it turned out to be an all around lovely day for a wedding.

To start off I must say that I love the duel memory card feature on the D3.  I plan on keeping them both filled, and then whenever I notice it go to the second card, I will just replace the card in the first slot when I get a chance.  I think this is better than pretending I have an 8 gig card in there, because you can still get caught in the middle of something important.

I decided to keep quite during the ceremony, but quickly raised my camera for the “And I now pronounce you, husband and wife…” Wow they were happy.  After doing a few family photos of our own, we headed to the reception, where delicious food awaited.  The newly weds had a blast walking in, and even more fun cutting the cake. I love it when you can sit back and just snap photos, because their happiness makes the image work!
