Jerry Ghionis Workshop Part 1

I just finished up with a 5 day workshop by one of the top wedding photographers in the world. He is Jerry Ghionis and he came to teach a wedding photography workshop here in Denver this past week. Without saying too much about him, I give you his website here, and let you know he has won over 25 album of the year awards. Needless to say I learned a thing or two. One of my favorite quotes, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see” rang so true this week. On two occasions we were asked to shoot the same model in the same scenario with the same light and only show 1 un-photoshopped image the next day for critique. Forcing myself to be creative, I came up with some images that even I am impressed with. Within this tiny 10x15ft room there were only a few chairs, a small couch and a work desk. Instead of shooting the same portrait with pretty light I always do, I came up with this. Thank you to our beautiful model Melissa Ghionis. It was a blast to be the first workshop with you two as husband and wife! I will be posting another image from the following day very soon. I cannot wait to implement my new knowledge, techniques, and motivation to show you all in an even more beautiful and creative way than before.
